Two-day training course regarding the capabilities, benefits and recent developments of the DLMS/COSEM communication protocol             


Correct exchange of meter data is of major importance in the liberalized energy market. Remote energy meter interrogation is essential or the fast and reliable determination of balance or unbalance between forecasts and actual energy usage in a fast and reliable way remote interrogation of energy meters is unavoidable. The data collection protocol DLMS/COSEM is an international standard that is ideal for this purpose. This course will provide you with the knowledge you need regarding the capabilities and benefits of DLMS/COSEM communication and regarding recent developments in this field.

Result
At the conclusion of the course, you will be familiar with the DLMS/COSEM communication standard, you will know how to go about implementing DLMS/COSEM in your device and you will know how to test your implementation.

"IEC 62056 DLMS/COSEM – a core standard for interoperable smart metering systems" October 8th 13.00 - 17.00

is the President of the DLMS UA since 2000 and he leads the DLMS UA Maintenance working group. He regularly provides training and consulting on DLMS/COSEM. He also contributes to Metering International and gives papers on metering conferences worldwide.

Victoria Varju, DLMS support and test engineer who has joined the team in 2010.

The DLMS User Association is pleased to propose its successful seminar – updated each year – on DLMS/COSEM, debuted 10 years ago at Metering Europe 2002 in Amsterdam.
The actuality of this seminar is given by the publication of a new Edition of the DLMS UA Books, as well as a new edition of the IEC 62056 suite (for electricity metering) and the EN 13757-1 standard (for metering other types of energy).
In the past 10 years, DLMS/COSEM has emerged as the leading global standard for meter data exchange, supporting a whole range of new requirements to meet the needs of efficient, interoperable and secure smart metering systems. Today, the DLMS UA unites more than 250 members worldwide. The number of certified meter types has also exceeded 250.
